Guestbook

  1. It is with great sadness that we heard of Bruce’s passing. We know his Dad well, and over the years met Bruce several times. His government service and genuine concern for those who worked for him is well known. Our deepest condolence to all of his family.Fondly, Lou and Does DeRosa

  2. I am so very sorry for your loss. Your dad was one of my favorite people and I am constantly remembering stories and events we shared. He was a wonderful man who loved life and taught everyone he came in contact with how to appreciate each and every day. All my prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. Terry

  3. To the Hart Family (his father Bill, siblings Charles and Katherine, and especially to his children Sarah and Bill) you have my most heart felt condolences. Bruce was one of a kind and his passing leaves a huge hole in many lives and hearts but none more so than yours. A little insight to Bruce at the office – although he held very senior positions with significant rank and commiserate responsibilities, he never put on airs. He was humble and had a knack for revealing just how human and subsequently flawed he (and each and every one of us) was. He could be irreverent but that was usually reserved for a most deserving recipient or audience I will remember him for his sharp intellect, his ability to bring people from all walks of life together, but most importantly for his genuine concern and compassion for those who worked for him. The contagious nature of his mischevous smile and his innate passion for life itself will always be among my fondest memories of him.

  4. Bruce was a pivotal figure in our lives, sharing work, friendship, and many laughs. He was an inspiration in so many ways and will be forever remembered for his leadership and friendship across the years.

  5. I was so incredibly saddened to hear about your loss; you have my deepest sympathies. Bruce was not only a wonderful boss, he was a selfless mentor and a dear and cherished friend. We meet so many people in the course of our lives in all circumstancesmany we think of with fondness; some become friends; few stand out as truly remarkable and amazing. Bruce was truly remarkable and amazing. His genuine mixture of intellect, humor, compassion, vision, and humilityall of which you might experience in the course of one five minute conversationset Bruce in a class all by himself. I cherish the memories of my time with Bruce both at work and outside of it. I will miss him fiercely.

  6. To The Bruce Hart Family; My prayers are with you all at this very difficult time in your lives. Given time, coping will take the place of the intensity of Bruces’ crossing. Please, give yourselves that gift, and while you are all together, honor his memory –and yous–with joyous connections that you have had together over the years…I guarantee –your heart will smile. I send peace, and love with hugs, Lynn Hambro

  7. My memories of Bruce all share a common theme, one of humor, sharp insights, and genuine thoughtfulness. Bruce was very dedicated and challenged me and the team to exceed his expectations and give him straight answers to tough challenges. He always made us laugh and saw the irony in many situations. It’s no surprise he enjoyed tremendous success in his Agency career and his role at Terremark. He was a classy guy and a wonderful person. He will remain fondly in our memories.

  8. My memories of Bruce go back many years to dinners at his parent’s house and more specifically, a sing-a-long in my living room where the harmonies of his guitar, his voice and his brother’s voice still linger. I understand over the years that Bruce’s love of music and his guitars continued to be an ever-present influence in his life. My hope is that Bruce’s memory will remain more vivid to his family and friends through the music he played.

  9. Bruce was a good friend, colleague, and mentor. He served his country with pride and served it well. My deepest condolences to his family for their loss of this wonderful son, and father.

  10. My deepest condolences to the Hart family. I have had the pleasure of working for Bruce’s dad and with Bruce himself. My memories of Bruce are all positive – a dedicated, intelligent worker that had a real vision of the future and where he was going. He also was a man who inspired his coworkers.

  11. Bruce and I served together in the field, living across the street from each other in base housing. We were both blessed with the birth of daughters during this tour, his Sarah and our daughter Suzanne. He was a great guy. His untimely passing is such a loss on so many levels. Our hearts go out to his family.

  12. BILL, I AM LATE IN ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR LOSS, BUT I DO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW MIYAKO AND I WERE DEEPLY SADDENED WHEN WE LEARNED. IT DOES PLEASE ME TO KNOW THAT BRUCE, LIKE HIS FATHER, WAS A HIGH ACHIEVER. HE WAS A CREDIT TO HIS FAMILY, THE AGENCY AND ALL WHO KNEW HIM.

  13. I knew Bruce for a little while around 1976. His wife Ruth was a secretary at the Virginia Tech Department of Dairy Science where I was a graduate student. Bruce and I had a few good moments playing guitar. He had a gift.
