Dolores Nowrey Pirkey

Dolores N. Pirkey age 98, went to her final resting place on December 16, 2021. Dolores was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1923 to the late Thomas A Nowrey and late Elizabeth McCloskey. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Wellman K Pirkey and her loving son, Wellman C “Skip”. Survived by her grandson Stephen Pirkey. Predeceased by her siblings, George B Nowrey Sr, Elizabeth “Sis” Vigil, and Thomas A Nowrey Jr. Dolores was a veteran of WWII and worked at the Pentagon with the Joint Chiefs of Staff for many years. While raising her son in Arlington, Va, it was known that she made the best pancakes. There was a Funeral Mass for all on December 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St Mark Catholic Church in Vienna, Virginia, followed by burial at Andrew Chapel Cemetery at the corner of Trap Rd. and Rt 7, Vienna, Va.
