Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Family: I have worked with Denise for several years. She was intelligent, energetic, and committed to the medical schools she assisted. We will miss her. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

  2. I just found out when my sister Karen called this evening. I am so sorry. Most of the memories I have of Denise are from when we were young. I only spoke to her as an adult a few times. I always remembered her voice fondly. I have no reservation saying that I always knew she was kind, caring, a very special person. My wife passed a couple months ago. I have some idea of what your feeling, and whats to come. I am sorry that I didn’t have the opportunity to know her better. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. Frank Dodero (cousin)

  3. Dear Family- I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to you. I worked for Denise at AAMC a few years ago. She was a wonderful colleague and friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

  4. Dear Family, Ohio State University Physicians would like to extend our deepest sympathies to you. Denise will remain in the hearts and prayers of our staff who have worked with her over the years.

  5. I first got to know Denise in New Mexico years ago and had my first chance to tease her about her trademark scarves. From her good humor when a number of us were stuck (again in the Southwest) when planes were grounded after the attack on the Twin Towers, to her untiring passion for her work, she was a real presence. When she called several of us on Friday on her birthday just to say hello, she was at her upbeat best. I will remember her that way and miss her.

  6. I never personally met Denise but had plenty of telephone and email exchanges with her. She was really a gem and as you know someone I refer to as a “searcher”. A searcher is one who looks to solve the problem or answer the question. She did not pass the buck. All will miss this trait, our sincere condolences to Denise’s family and friends.

  7. To the Family and Friends of Denise, Denise had a passion for life, work and friends. Her energy was contagious and her thoughtfulness was always a true blessing. She was a friend and a valued colleague and I will miss her dearly. May God bless and keep you all during this difficult time.

  8. Dear Family, I had the pleasure of working with Denise over the last several years through various associations. She was always upbeat, always prepared, always friendly, and always willing to help others. On behalf of the University of Utah Medical Group, please accept our condolences. Her memories will live forever in us all. Dayle Benson

  9. I have known Denise since before she joined the AAMC. She was always pleasant, competent, and a joy to work with. My deepest sympathies are extended to her family.

  10. All of us at The University of Colorado School of Medicine and University Physicians, Inc send our deepest sympathy to Denise’s family. She was terrific to work with and always helping all of us pull together for the good of the Profession. I will treasure the special bow-tie she gave me two years ago at the GFP meeting and always think of her and her warmth and good humor when I wear it.

  11. Soon after she first came to the AAMC, Denise attended a medical specialty meeting and I wondered who the pretty woman who asked great questions was. She never stopped asking good questions and she always went out of her way to contribute data and provide input on a range of issues. Along the way as we joked about quitting our jobs and starting a doggie boutique, she also became my friend. I will miss her.

  12. I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to Denise’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Denise at AAMC. She was very dedicated and hard working and a great colleague and friend. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

  28. I worked with Denise at Stanford for many years and was fortunate to be able to connect with her last week. She sounded upbeat and bubbly, as usual. She spoke with pride and joy about her sister Gail and about her “bonus” sister. I will miss her intelligence, her tenacity and her warmth.

  29. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Denise was among my first acquaintances at Stanford. Over the years we worked closely on a number of projects together and became good friends. She gave me my first job in Washington and exposed me to a lot of the workings of health care policy. I left to work for the Federal Government and when I got transferred to California, I got in touch with Denise who told me exactly where the perfect place to live for my new job was. She was a very special person.

  41. To the Dodero Family, Just heard about Denise’s passing. We met in 1980 at Stanford, became fast friends and roommates – in fact she was in my wedding. We stayed close even when she moved to the pacific northwest but lost contact with each other when she moved to the east coast. She was such an incredible friend with an amazing sense of humor. She spent many holidays with my family in Los Gatos and always brought her famous new york style cheesecake with her. I will miss her greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
