  12. These are unconditional loving deeds and memories of my sister-in law Anita. The most vivid that I have: It was the month of November of 1971. I was going to get married. We selected Anita as our Maid of Honor. Anita invited me to her house for two weeks, just the time before the wedding, because she said she would help me sew my wedding dress so that it would have the perfect fit and be a more economical way of getting what I wanted. I was inexperienced at sewing and was nervous. I knew how to sew but not enough to make my own wedding dress. She helped me to select the pattern, cut the fabric, an helped me make the dress. In addition to helping me with my dress, Anita also made the rest of the bridesmaid’s dresses as well. The dresses came out great. These was only possible because she was such a good seemstress and never gave up when she decided to do something. Anita, your memory will always be with us in our hearts and prayers.

  13. Dear Anita and Mr Herrera- I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Herrera. I have the fondest memories of her. With a quick laugh and loving smile, she was always happy to see the Marymount girls. I will never forget your birthday parties, your Mom was having just as much fun as the girls. Take care and please keep in touch. Mary Anne

  14. Dear Anita and Mr. Herrera – I was so sorry to hear about the death of Mrs. Herrera. My most abiding memory of her is when, for either one or two summers, Mrs. Herrera volunteered as one of the chaperones for our Visitation beach trips. In spite of having to supervise 10 high school girls, Mrs. Herrera managed to maintain a constant smile as she kept us all in line. I’m sure she’s enjoying the chance to catch up in Heaven with my mom and Maura and Claire’s moms. Please know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep in touch! Irene Flannery

  15. Dear Anita, Thank you for the good advice that you provided us throughout the years. You had a sunny disposition and a positive attitude that helped you fight vigorously for your health. You were a good wife, mother and sister and we admire you for your independence and your resolve to always have a normal life inspite of your disability. We love your watercolors, which we proudly display in our home. Anita we love you and you’ll always remain in our memory and our heart.

  16. Anita Villavicencio Herrera…a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and a friend to many, will be remembered dearly for her beautiful smile…her inside and outside beauty…her love of life, family, and friends. To me, Anita will be remembered as “Tia”. Tia, was there for her sister Mercedes, while on the phone taken instructions from her brother (Dr.Jorge), when I decided to arrive into this world…yes, she was there for my mother and delivered me. A brilliant seamstress, who made my red velvet and white satin Senior Homecoming gown. My memories of Anita would be her outstanding gift to prepare meals fit for royalty…her sense of humor…her laughter…her beautiful artwork…her strong beliefs and integrity. Anita, will be dearly missed by all. ….continued, see below

  17. ***Continued from previous entry… As we all go through life’s greatest sorrow, I pray that our faith in God bring comfort and strength to Teddy, Anita Maria, Family and to all those who loved her. We now need to embrace all the precious memories each and everyone of us holds for Anita. She is now in the loving hands of God and will remain in our hearts and memories forever. With Love, Cynthia Velasco Wright

  18. Mi Querida Hermana Anita, God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me”. With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. I’ll miss our hours of phone conversations and our visits in Myrtle Beach. Rest in peace my dear sister. Love, Michita
