James Anthony Aragon, 76 of Fairfax Virginia passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was born September 18, 1946, in New Mexico. He was the oldest of 10 siblings. He was a great storyteller and jokester. He would tell some of the same stories over and over, embellishing them more and more as the years went by. His wife and children were his world, but his first love was the Navy. He enjoyed traveling all over the world with the Navy and retired after 21 years of service. He then had a 20-year civilian career supporting several federal agencies, also traveling for several years during his second career. He and Lori met during his naval career and were married for just shy of 39 wonderful years. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and enjoyed watching and cheering them on every Sunday during football season. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved going to the ships reunions and reminiscing with fellow sailors who served on board his favorite ship, the USS King, where he served two tours of duty during his career.
James is survived by his wife and love of his life Lori Aragon, his precious children Alejandro Aragon and Antonia Mahan, his daughter-in-law Alicia Connors, his son-in-law Timothy Mahan and three cherished grandchildren Cyrus Aragon, and Lola and Leo Mahan. Jim is preceded in death by his siblings David Dominguez and Geronimo (Jerry) Dominguez. He is survived by his siblings Charlene Martinez, Joan Dominguez, Tommy Dominguez, Frank Dominguez, Loraine Dominguez-Cereceres, Nora Dominguez, and Johnny Dominguez, his brother-in-law Joe Martinez and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families.

  1. We didn’t see you much, but when we did, it was always a wonderful ride! You were a great entertainer and storyteller and you will be greatly missed.

  2. You were the best storyteller and always made me laugh and smile. I miss you and love you lots, say hi to the kitties up there.

  3. The best man for my sister and best dad for my nephew and niece and the amazing tio/grandfather/brother…you left a huge void and I know you are holding court with those who came before. Wish we had more time with you. This will make sense only to those who knew the story…”he did what, no he’s did”. Much love ❤️

  4. Your love and generous spirit will continue to warm our hearts as your memory stay with us. May those of us still here find peace, rest, and comfort. Prayers and Gods blessing to Lori and the family❣️
