With a heart full of love and a bright spirit, Martha Jeanne Croson Midgett passed away on March 14, 2025. Born on June 3, 1942, to Robert and Martha Croson, Jeanne grew up in the vibrant community of Arlington, Virginia. Jeanne’s life was a testament to her boundless enthusiasm and generosity. After graduating from Wakefield High School and the Washington School of Secretaries, she embarked on a 42-year career with the Internal Revenue Service, retiring with the love and respect of her colleagues. Her dedication to her work was only matched by her devotion to her community.

Jeanne’s passion for animals led her to become a beloved pet walker/sitter, bringing joy to countless furry friends and their owners. She also remained an active member of the Wakefield Alumni Association, where she cherished the memories and friendships forged during her high school days. Her warm spirit was always on display at the local senior center, where she delighted in playing dominoes and canasta with a wonderful group of friends. Jeanne’s family is filled with love and gratitude for this remarkable woman. She leaves behind her first cousin, Dr. Robert Herrmann, his son Robert (Robbie) Herrmann Jr., and their families; cousins Arthur Paul Herrmann III, Gregory Herrmann, Cynthia Landin, and Tammy Posey, each with their own families to cherish; and a network of dear friends who will miss her sparkling presence.
