April 22, 1932 ~ March 23, 2025

Born in: Nampa, Idaho
Resided in: Vienna, Virginia

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce the passing of our father, George Anitole. A man of many accomplishments. An exemplary husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and son. A man of substance, a man of character, a man of knowledge. He taught us love of family and love of God. He instilled in us a strong work ethic, the value of learning, and the guiding principles of showing kindness and respect towards others. He was the backbone of our family, our support system, our safety net. We are forever grateful, honored, and privileged to call you father. We will love you always. “May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”

He is survived by his daughter Katherine Misleh, son-in-law Sam Misleh, son James Anitole, daughter-in-law Dahlia Kamel, and grandson, Nicholas Anitole, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Joanna Anitole and his son, Nicholas Anitole.

The wake and funeral will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Falls Church, Virginia starting at 10AM. Burial will be held in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041 https://www.saint-katherines.org/

  5. Dear Kathy and Jim and Family, We are very sorry for the loss of your beloved father, George. We remember George and Joanne as being very dear friends of our parents, Nick and Jean Lampos, for many years. They shared a legacy of devotion to their family, and as members of the St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. May you be comforted by the loving memory of your parents, and be at peace in the Grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Condolences with Love, Roddy and Connie McMullen
