Andrea Stevens-Case of McLean, VA, beloved wife of Thomas C. Case, died on September 28, 2015, with her husband by her side, after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Andrea will forever be loved and remembered by her devoted husband of 26 years, Tom; daughter Stephanie (Jake) Peebles; stepdaughter Kristen Cargal; stepson Matthew (Holly) Case; mother Anne Marusevich; sisters Daria Quataert and Denise Magyar; grandchildren Josephine, Elizabeth, and Benjamin Peebles, Lauren Cargal, Cailin and Channing Case, and her life long friend Margaret Kelly. She is preceded in death by her father, Stephen.

Born November 19, 1948, Andrea grew up in a loving and musical family in Levittown, NY. Andrea was always a sunny and entertaining person who from a young age loved music, Ukrainian dancing, and playing the cello.

Andrea received her BA in Sociology from Hofstra University and her MS in Mathematics from Stony Brook University. She was an educator for several years and then joined Mobil Oil in 1980 where, for 23 years, she held positions in finance and project development. There she also met and married Thomas C. Case in 1989. Her career took her all over the world; Qatar, Turkey, Nigeria, and other places in Europe and Asia. She balanced her career with family and charity and was a devout Catholic. During her career and in retirement, Andrea and her family called Levittown NY, Great Falls VA, Houston TX, and McLean VA their home.

In retirement, Andrea traveled, lived an active lifestyle, volunteered at her church and in her community, enjoyed time with her family especially grandkids, and owned two businesses with her husband. Her family and friends remember her as a driven woman with a positive perspective, love and compassion for everyone, especially those who needed it the most. She was not shy and lived life singing out loud (literally), which brought great joy to all who knew her. She motivated and inspired her loved ones to be their best. She is the light of our lives and we'll miss her forever.

A funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 10 at 1:30pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna, VA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andrea's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church or Capital Caring for The Adler Center for Caring.
