Bev was a terrific person and good sport. She joined us for the Gold Cup several years ago and tolerated the rain and crowded tent like a trooper. We always enjoyed her company.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Beverly Jane Mark, on April 2, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Beverly lived a life filled with grace, compassion, and joy. She was the heart and soul of her family, always putting the needs of others before her own, creating a safe and loving haven for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was a place where laughter echoed through the halls, and the scent of her famous houska sweet bread, kolacky cookies, and other Czech baked goods filled the air.
The dining room table often held a jigsaw puzzle, while her favorite chair had a hand-knitted blanket in progress for the next addition to the family.
Beverly had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special. Whether through a gentle word of encouragement, a comforting hug, or a story from her own life, she made everyone feel seen and loved. With an innate gift for listening, her advice was always filled with wisdom and compassion. Her love for her family and her deep faith in life were sources of strength that will continue to guide us in the days ahead.
She is survived by brother, Jim Chrz (Betsy) and her children, Susan Skahan (Patrick), Kathleen Miller (Andrew), Scott (Lori) and Barbara Pasztor. She will be remembered fondly by 12 grandchildren: Andrew Steven Miller, Elisabeth Halleen (Dane), Christopher Skahan (Anita), Nathaniel Pasztor (Samantha), Kelly Walling (Jeremy), Eric Pasztor (Julie), Matthew Miller, Emily Mark, Abigail Pasztor (Daniel Hodge), Alex Miller, Alison Hutcheson (Nicholas), Sarah Cornwell (Joseph) and 7 great-grandchildren (Madison, Daren, Evan, Ryan, Lily, William, Jacob) each of whom carry a piece of her heart.
Her legacy of love, warmth, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us in the years ahead. While our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life, Kenneth Mark, and with other dear ones who left before her.
A viewing will be held at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, VA at noon on April 14, 2025. We will have a short ceremony at the funeral home at 1:00, with interment at Fairfax Memorial Park at 2:00.
Mom/Grandma, you will forever be in our hearts, and your love will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know you. We will enjoy chicken wings and raise a glass in your honor – NA ZDRAVI
(meaning CHEERS in Czech; Mom would pronounce Nuzdah 🙂)!
