Beth, and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Nick. Our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tim and I are deeply saddened at Nick’s passing. We have so many fond memories of Nick both during the VYI years and later at Madison. He always greeted me with a big smile and frequently made me laugh with his quick humor. He was and always will be one of my favorite Vienna kids. Our hearts are heavy and sad. You all are and will continue to be in our prayers.

Nick, you were one of my best friends growing up. I’ll always remember hanging out at SACC while we were at Wolftrap, core memories I’ll always hold with me.

Even though we didn’t see each other much after school, we’d grab lunch or dinner to catch up. Each time we’d just pick up where we left off, as if nothing changed.

You’re one of the most sincere people I’ve ever met and I’m honored to be your friend.

Can’t say enough kind words about you, Nick. Your kindness and friendship was contagious. I’ll hold onto the memories of your father coaching us all throughout VYI growing up. So many memories coming back at once. My heart aches. You were always there when somebody needed them the most. I’ll miss you, bud. Rest easy.

While I never met Nick personally, I knew him from the eyes of his grandmother who lives and adores him dearly. I worked with Dottie for almost 2 years and heard many funny and loving stories about her grandson. It was very obvious from her stories that Nick was an awesome young man who will be dearly missed. Rich and I were so sorry to hear about Nick’s passing. He was such a nice, energetic child. I remember how passionate he was about football and how sweet he was with Julia. Our thought and prayers go out to Nick’s family and friends.

This may be incredibly strange, so I’m sorry if it’s odd! You don’t know me, but I just wanted to send you a note on this holiday without your son.

Today, while walking in Columbia Gardens Cemetery after visiting the grave of my own (infant) son, I happened past your son’s grave. I was sorry to see he was so, so young at his passing. I thought of your family, grieving the loss this holiday season, and I wanted to take the time to honor him, despite never knowing him. Reading his obituary, he sounds like an incredible person just embarking on some of life’s biggest adventures. I am so, so sorry that your time with him wasn’t longer.

Anyway, I just know that it means a lot to me when people pause a minute to think about my son, and so I took a minute to pause and think about yours. His life touched mine today, even though we didn’t know each other. All this to say, there is another person out there remembering your dear son this Christmas Eve. My sincere sorrow for your loss.
