Born in: Baltimore, Maryland
Resided in: Oakton, Virginia

Patricia Lou Frank, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Oakton, VA on September 26, 2023, just six days following her beloved husband of 61 years, Fred. Patricia was born on September 19, 1936 in Baltimore, MD. She grew up being called Patsy as a child and then Pat as an adult. She was primarily raised by her maternal grandmother, and grew up alongside many cousins that were more like siblings. She loved her summers in Lewisburg, WV spending time where her mother grew up and with her mother’s extended family. She lived with her father during her teen years and shared fond memories of their overlapping with one another in the afternoons before he went off to work as a musician.

Having never lived outside of Baltimore until she married her husband Fred, the day after their wedding, they drove west to Denver, CO and lived there while he finished getting his master’s degree. There began their love of traveling and exploring National Parks.

Before marrying Fred, Patsy went to the Maryland Institute of Art (now MICA) for a brief period of time focusing on fashion design and then to Baltimore Junior College (now BCCC). She was a wonderful seamstress, making most of her clothes growing up and then for her children as they grew up. Before having children, she worked a number of years as a medical secretary.

Once her children were born, Pat was a devoted homemaker along with being very active in her church and as a Girl Scout leader. She loved listening to Stain Glassed Bluegrass on Sunday mornings, eating steamed crabs with lots of family around ideally at Ocean City, MD and watching the Orioles, if not on TV at Memorial Stadium and Camden Yards. She gave a tremendous amount of love to everyone around her and created many wonderful memories and traditions for her family and friends.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Fred and her daughter Kathy. She is survived by her daughter Susan, son Fred, sons-in law Austin and Dave and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held alongside her husband on October 7th at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 7426 Idylwood Rd., Falls Church, VA 22043

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, an organization very near and dear to Pat’s heart, at https://give.stjo.org/site/Donation2?df_id=4520&4520.donation=form1&s_src=Donate_ppc_MS
